Vacation!!!

Our vacation is sadly coming to a close. Only two more days left. :( Monday we spent the day with my brother and his family. We played 18 holes of golf with him and his wife joined us for 9. Then we had dinner and hung out at their place that night for a bit. We didn't get any pictures because the course was super crowded. Tuesday we spent the day here:
And here:
View from the bottom (you might need to turn it if you want the correct picture... I am lazy):
Us in the middle of the hike (pretending we are happy to be hiking straight up):
And from the top:
Today we went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory in Tillimook Oregon with these joker's (my niece and nephew) and their mom:
Then we went here:
To see this:
And we stopped by a few beaches to let these faceless children play on our scenic drive up the north Oregon coast.
My Captain Morgan:
Vacations are great, aren't they? Another 18 holes of golf tomorrow at a place where the clubhouse is made from an old barn, cool huh?

Golf, Golf, and more Golf

Who wouldn't want to spend a beautiful Saturday morning here?If Scott had it his way, we would golf more than we already do. Last week we played 9 holes on Monday (like we do every Monday night), I had my golf class on Tuesday, golf class was cancelled Thursday so Scott and I went to the driving range, and we played 18 holes on Saturday. It's a dang good thing I enjoy it. It is a tough sport, but it is also a lot of fun. I am learning that if I just relax and get into a slow rhythm and enjoy my surroundings I actually play better and have a better time. We went to a beautiful course on Saturday. I didn't get a picture of the awesome view, but I did get a couple of good pictures. The tee boxes were marked by giant golf balls. They are super cute! You may have to take a closer look to actually see what they are. They would go perfectly with the giant tee one of Scott's friends has. I also got to wear my new golf shoes that Scott bought me for the very first time on Saturday. They were super comfy. I enjoyed them very much. I think I might be a real golfer now... Someday I might actually get good!

Last Weekend

I know I am super late on this post, but I have to write about it anyway because my husband needs credit for how awesome he is. Saturday morning after the breast cancer run, I went out to breakfast with an old friend I don't get to see very often. While I was doing that, Scott was at home cleaning our house because he knew we were having my mom and sister over on Mother's day and I hate to have company when the house is dirty. He seriously cleaned almost every room in the house and changed the sheets on our bed. He even cleaned the kitchen which is kind of my domain. I got home and did a flower arrangement for Scott's mom, and then I helped clean what was left. He had already done so much. It was really sweet of him. He always kicks in and takes care of things when I least expect it, it is great.
Anyway, we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in Nephi, which was fun. Except that I fell asleep watching a movie and that is lame! Sunday, we had my sister and mom over (my dad had to work) for dinner and it was really nice to have them to come my house for a change. They for some reason think I live too far away. But I'm supposed to make it up there on a regular basis. Anywho, I got the cutest picture of Tia and Malachi. I hope I have a kid that cute some day! The shirt he is wearing is a birthday present from us. That's right, the kid's got style.

Save the Ta Ta's

Saturday I ran the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Salt Lake. It was a great experience. I almost didn't want to run it because I was doing it alone, but I really enjoyed it and was glad I did. There was an estimated 18,000 people who participated in either the 5k or the 1 mile run/walk. Which made it a little hard to get running with everyone so close together at the start. I was impressed that there were so many people out to the support the cause. This is the only race for a cause I have ever done, and I was thrilled that it was also the biggest race I have ever done. I didn't really care about my time, I just cared about participating, but my time wasn't bad either. Overall I have to applaud everyone who participated and say it was a great experience. I hope to participate again next year.

Lots to Say

I for some odd reason have not blogged since Thursday, but I have had things to blog about almost every day since then, so here is the rundown:
  • Thursday night I LOVED my golf class. We hit 9-iron and pitching wedge on the range (which is actually the soccer field). I was amazed at how much I was able to improve my swing in one class. It helped that I felt no pressure. It's a beginning golf class so everyone around me was bad too, and I could just relax and focus on how I was hitting it. I hit a few really good shots and really got the bug. I went home and told Scott how much I loved it for 20 minutes. It was great. I am looking forward to tonight's class to see how much more I can improve!
  • Friday I left work around 1 and went to lunch with Scott. It was nice to take the afternoon off because work has gotten really slow for me lately. That night we went and saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. I don't really recommend it. To be honest it was kind of disappointment. Scott's description was predictable. Mine I would have to say is skanky. It seemed like the whole movie was about sex. It will not be added to my collection.
  • Saturday Scott and I had a nice date night thanks to birthday gift cards that were two months old. We went to dinner at Olive Garden, which for some reason was even more amazing than normal. So very tasty. Then we saw XMen Origins: Wolverine. It was good. Much better than the other movie we saw, but not my favorite movie ever by any means. I probably am not the best person to review it considering I am not a guy and it's definitely a guy movie. Scott liked it and was ready to go see it again. I will be happy to watch it again when it comes out on DVD and we buy it. Basically it was just nice to have a date night with Scott. Just he two of us.
  • Last night was our weekly golf game. When we got to the golf course there was a tee time for Morgan at 6, which is our normal tee time. But we didn't make a tee time yesterday. It was really weird. I had a really really good time. I usually freak out about how bad I am and get frustrated and sometimes even cry on the golf course. It's really unfair to Scott and he is so patient with me. But last night, I was relaxed and I tried out the changes that I had made to my swing and it really helped. I felt really good about my game overall and staying relaxed and shaking off the bad shots helped me to really enjoy the good shots and the game overall. It was just a really good 9 holes of golf with my husband. I really enjoyed it.

There is the last 5 days in a nutshell. There was probably more to say on any of those things but that's it for now!
