Twilight Movie

Ok, so some people may hate me for this post, but I am entitled to my own opinion. The Twilight movie was a HUGE disappointment. I went to the movie planning on being disappointed just so I might be pleasantly surprised. I hate when they turn books into movies and change the story line. It really bothers me. This movie jumped around a lot, took out details, and added in really retarded cheesy details. I realize they couldn't follow the book exactly because the book is long, but if you are going to cut content out because of length don't add in random cheesy crap that isn't in the book to begin with. The story line was chopped up and randomly placed, and I just felt like it could have been so much better had it followed the actual story and not replaced things or put them in the wrong order. There was a lot of missing character development and details from the book, and I didn't understand why they didn't do that rather than adding in scenes that were not a part of the story. It just got frustrating. And, unfortunately the a lot of the acting was very poor. The main characters were good, and actually most of the high school kids were really good, but the rest of the Cullen family wasn't very good, and the Quilettes weren't good either. I have heard quite a few people say the really liked it, but to me I expected it to be bad and it was worse. I probably will see it again, and maybe it will grow on me as time goes. There were a lot of people in the theater that were laughing and going ooooh at the cheesy parts and that kind of made it harder to like it as well. Maybe some of you are thinking I am being to hard on it, because they change story lines when they turn books into movies, but they didn't much with Harry Potter and look how well it has done. Harry Potter they cut out content, but didn't replace it with new stuff. The only changes they made were possibly in dialog, who said what. It can be done and Twilight had such huge potential.

Nice Friday Afternoon Visit

Friday afternoon I went to West Valley to visit one of my good friends from high school. It was really nice because we rarely see each other and I really enjoyed being able to catch up on how life is for her. It was so nice to visit with a friend that has known me for quite sometime and be able to see how much both of us have changed for the better and yet we are still able to talk for hours without ever having the strange awkwardness that sometimes presents itself when you haven't really talked in person for a while. It does help that we keep in touch through email regularly. Really what I realized is while I don't put friends as a priority in my life anymore, I still have friends I can connect with and who still like me despite my many imperfections. It turned out to be a really nice afternoon and I was glad I went to visit. We should do it more often!

Busy, busy, busy

Does anyone else ever feel like there are so many things to do with so little time? I work 4 ten hour days and then when I get home at night all I want to do is hang out with Scott. So my normal night goes like this. Get home around 6:30. Either work out for 30 min or start making dinner, eat dinner,clean up dinner, watch a movie or a little TV with Scott, go to bed around 8:30 and read while Scott lays on me until I get tired enough to turn out the light. Get up at 5:30 and do it again. So my day to do all of the many projects that I would love to be doing? Friday. Know what I normally do on Fridays? Clean. It is important for our house to be clean right? Saturdays consist of running errands and doing things with family and usually going on a date that night, Sundays church and just hanging around together. So there you go. Leaves me no time to paint and decorate my aesthetically challenged bedroom. No time to frame some pictures of family or of our wedding and put them up. No time to paint the golf bathroom green. I am happy that my life is so full and I am busy a lot. That is always a good thing. I like to be out and about, but when am I going to get my wedding scrapbook done? I don't know what my point is, I just wanted to vent my feelings of frustration with my many undone projects I would like to be working on. And one more thing, somehow when we bought our house I didn't factor in the ability to decorate it. It is hard! I want to do so many things and I have so many ideas, but the lack of money and the lack of really cool and creative ideas holds me back. The End.

1. His personality, we were friends for so long, and then I realized how awesome he was
2. His looks. He dresses so well and really takes pride in how he looks. What a hottie!
3. He’s hard working. He takes pride in the work he does. It drives me crazy when he spends the weekend answering phone calls and dealing with work, but I do admire his work ethic.
4. Before we were dating I saw him look at the girl he was dating in a really adoring way and I thought it was so cute. Now he looks at me in a way that is far superior and I love that feeling.
5. He is really good with kids, and they are naturally drawn to him. So much so that we were sitting on a bench in the mall and a little kid just walked up to him smiling. He is just to great with kids, and somehow they know it.
6. He and I can talk for hours without getting bored. When I opened at subway on Saturday mornings, I was always so happy when Scott would get there and we could talk.
7. His dorkiness. I know that he is not going to like that I say he is a little dorky, but aren't we all. It is just something I find endearing.

Think Pink

Friday night Grizzlies Hockey was Breast Cancer Awareness Night. I am a huge advocate for the fight against breast cancer, so of course I wanted to go.We went and we were so happy we did. It was a really awesome game. The Grizzlies wore pink jersey's and played on pink ice. I don't love the color pink, but it was really cool looking. They were playing the Ontario Reign. Ontario scored twice in the first period and the score stayed 2-0 until the last 3 minutes. Then the Grizzlies scored around 2:45 left. I was pretty sure they were still going to lose because they had just under 3 min to score again. They scored again with about 27 seconds to go. They went in to over time and then into a shoot out and the Grizzlies won! It was awesome. We sat right behind the opposing team and it was really funny to listen to some of the die hard fans taunt the other team and yell at the coach. I also was privileged to see a guy who had gotten hit in the junk get off the ice and reach down his pants to adjust. It was quite lovely. Anyway, we enjoyed the game so much we decided to go again the next night. That game was a little more intense and we sat right on the ice. They lost 6-5, but still lots of fun. Hmm, Scott and I may have a new hobby!

Snow

I just have to have my first rant of the snow season. There may be more to come. Who knows. While snow is extremely beautiful, and the intricacy of detail on each snowflake amazes me, I am not a big fan of snow. Mostly because I don't like driving in it. I don't like being cold because of it. If I can cozy up in a blanket and watch a movie while it snows outside, then snow away, but driving to work in the dark and in the snow, not so much fun. Ok, you may be saying, it wasn't that bad this morning, and it wasn't. But I know it will be. I am sure I will have many a morning where I drive 25 mph on the freeway and some people speed on past in their four wheel drive trucks that they think will never slide and others are putting along slamming on their breaks every two seconds. Its quite lovely. And basically this rant is to say, here we go folks! Winter is upon us! Well, for those of us in Utah anyway. The exciting part is, that means Christmas is coming!
